Vititoe Law Group is currently looking into the possible effects of taking the medication Lipitor.
Lipitor is part of a class of drugs known as statins, which are used to lower cholesterol in the body to prevent heart disease and stroke. Recent studies have linked taking Lipitor to the development of Type-2 diabetes. Lipitor is a very popular MD recommended medication and is prescribed to lower high cholesterol in order to prevent heart attacks and strokes. Unfortunately, recent studies have suggested that taking Lipitor may increase the risk of developing diabetes, especially for women. A 2012 study published in the journal Archives of Internal Medicine found that women who took cholesterol-lowering medications like Lipitor, known as statins, were 50% more likely to develop diabetes than similar women who were not taking Lipitor or other statins.
