About Oxnard

Oxnard is a major transportation hub in Southern California, with Amtrak, Union Pacific, Metrolink, Greyhound, and Intercalifornia stopping in Oxnard. The high incidence of traffic in the Oxnard area also brings an increased risk of highway accidents and injuries. For example, while it is beautiful, parts of the Pacific Coast Highway are dangerous to drive and require a lot of attention.

Oxnard also has a small regional airport called Oxnard Airport (OXR). As well, Oxnard is also a thriving center of commerce, tourism and industry. Resort facilities and a recreational harbor attract and sustain a healthy tourist industry. Access to various points in the City has been recently enhanced by three newly completed interchanges from Highway 101.

Highway 101 doesn't normally get too backed up, but when drivers aren't paying full attention, more accidents happen because of various driving distractions (cell phones, eating, looking at maps, etc.). This also holds true for truck drivers who cause accidents because they have been driving too long to meet deadlines.

In fact, because of its beauty, Highway 1 tends to attract a lot of bicyclists. Unfortunately, whether on the PCH or commuting in town, too many drivers don't pay attention to their surroundings and vehicles collide with cyclists.

While Oxnard is relatively safe from a crime perspective, there are the unfortunate events where trains collide with cars, or bus accidents result in injuries for the passengers.

In many of these instances, the result is a serious or catastrophic injury which substantially impairs your ability to function as you did before the accident. These often include injuries to the spinal cord, concussions or other traumatic brain injury, or even wrongful death.

In any of these instances, you need to work with an attorney you can trust. James W. Vititoe has more than 30 years' experience representing victims of personal injury. Call today for a free consultation. We offer a car service to bring you to and from our offices in Oxnard or Westlake Village.

As with any well-trafficked recreation area, there is an increased chance of pedestrians being hit while using the crosswalk or other pedestrian accidents.

Oxnard boasts a magnificent coastline where oceanfront recreation, exceptional weather, and miles of uncrowded beaches await your discovery. For three weeks in July and August, the NFL's Dallas Cowboys hold Training Camp in Oxnard. Home to the California Strawberry Festival, and neighbor to the breathtaking Channel Islands National Park and Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary, Oxnard is a welcomed retreat any time of year.

Because of Oxnard's geographic location, watersport recreation is hugely popular. Because of the nature of watersport and boating recreation, injuries are far too common. Those boating injuries can stem from the sport itself, or from the negligence of the boat's driver.
